We can support companies in a wide variety of ways including:

Skills Support for Employment

The Engineering Training Centre delivers an ongoing Training Routes into Employment course developing unemployed adults aged 19 plus.This course typically trains unemployed individuals for production operative and picking and packing roles.

Recruitment

The Engineering Training Centre recruits potential staff for you through job centres, the National Careers Service and work programme providers by undertaking presentations detailing your roles and requirements, followed by one to one interviews. Suitable candidates are placed onto the training programme. Those who meet agreed criteria and scores then progress to the interview stage with yourselves/your recruitment agency for final interview.

Training

As a Sector Based Work Academy (SWBA), we can offer training to unemployed individuals at no cost to you. It consists of a one week course based in Northumberland, Newcastle, Peterlee, Sunderland or local to your company delivering Level 2 qualifications relevant to industry and providing reports on timekeeping, attendance and aptitude.

Additional Support

  • Process/manufacturing/assembly skills training can be based around your company’s requirements using replicas of your equipment if required
  • Timed tests/grading can be built into the programme to ensure the individuals can work in a fast moving environment
  • Early starts i.e. 07.30 built into the programme

Training for the Workforce

The Engineering Training Centre can deliver the following training courses for groups of 10 or more individuals either at your company premises or at its premises in Newcastle.

These currently consist of:

Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace/Level 2 Award in Industrial Environment Awareness – 2 half days
£100 per delegate

Level 2 Award in Principles of Manual Handling/Level 2 Award in Industrial Environment Awareness - 2 half days
£100 per delegate

Level 2 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment/Level 2 Award in Industrial Environment Awareness - 2 half days
£100 per delegate

Level 2 Award in the Principles of COSHH/Level 2 Award in Industrial Environment Awareness - 2 half days
£100 per delegate

Level 2 Certificate in Preparation for Working in the Engineering Manufacturing Industry - 2 week programme
£1000 per delegate

IOSH Managing Safely - 4.5 day course
£550 per delegate

IOSH Working Safely (Site Safety Passport) - initial and refresher - 1 day course
£125 per delegate
